Why Easter Matters
Prioritize what's important.
Who Is Jesus? The Only Way, the Truth, and the Life — And Why Easter Proves It
Easter isn’t about bunnies, eggs, or springtime renewal.
It’s about the most verifiable, world-changing event in history:
The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
At its core, Easter answers the ultimate question:
Who is Jesus?
And the answer determines everything.
Jesus Is God in the Flesh — Fully Divine, Fully Human
Jesus wasn’t just a good teacher, a moral example, or a wise prophet.
He claimed to be God Himself.
He forgave sins — something only God can do.
He accepted worship — something only God deserves.
He said, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30).
He declared, “Before Abraham was, I am” (John 8:58) — echoing God’s name to Moses in Exodus 3.
The religious leaders understood exactly what He was claiming.
That’s why they accused Him of blasphemy and sought to kill Him.
Jesus is fully God and fully man — the only one who could bridge the gap between sinful humanity and a holy God.
The Resurrection Proves Every Claim Jesus Made
If Jesus stayed dead, He was just another failed messiah.
But the tomb was empty.
He appeared — bodily, alive — to the women, the disciples, and over 500 witnesses.
The resurrection validates:
His divinity (“I am the resurrection and the life” — John 11:25).
His sinless life.
His atoning death.
His power over sin and death.
No other event in history has more eyewitness testimony, historical corroboration, or transformative impact.
The disciples went from hiding in fear to boldly preaching — most dying as martyrs.
They had nothing to gain and everything to lose unless it was true.
Jesus is alive.
He is ruling and reigning.
He is coming again.
Jesus Is the Only Way to Heaven
Jesus didn’t leave room for “many paths.”
He said plainly:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Other religions offer rules, rituals, or self-improvement.
Christianity offers a Savior who did for us what we could never do for ourselves.
Not works.
Not religion.
Not sincerity alone.
Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross and His resurrection.
The thief on the cross proves it (Luke 23:39–43).
One thief mocked Jesus.
The other confessed his guilt and asked Jesus to remember him.
Jesus replied: “Today you will be with me in paradise.”
No baptism.
No good deeds.
No religious performance.
Just repentance and faith in the Savior.
That’s the gospel.
The Charge: Believe in the Real Jesus This Easter
This Easter, don’t settle for cultural nostalgia or a watered-down version.
Confront the real question:
Who is Jesus to you?
A good teacher? A moral example? A myth?
Or the risen Lord — God in the flesh, who died for your sin and rose victorious?
If He is who He claimed to be:
Repent of your sin.
Trust in His death and resurrection alone for salvation.
Follow Him as Lord.
If you already believe:
Live like the resurrection is true.
Share the real gospel — not a social or self-help version.
Worship the risen King.
Jesus is alive.
He offers forgiveness, purpose, and eternal life to anyone who comes to Him.
That’s the power and hope of Easter.
What does the “who” of Jesus mean to you?
Have you trusted Him as your Lord and Savior?
